It starts tomorrow

On Saturday I’m going to start taking the seats out of the bus. I have enough tools that a bunch of people could work on a couple seats at once. You’re welcome to come by and help. You’re also welcome to come by and not help, if that sounds more appealing. But we’ll probably guilt you into holding something, or turning the handcrank radio.

Also, if you want a seat, come on by, and pick your own. I’m selling them for $10-$20 each, depending on the shape they’re in. This is going to be the primary source of funding for the bus for the first part of the summer. I’m working on whoring my body out to drug tests at UConn to pay for the second.

Since all the work tomorrow will be either inside or under the bus, we can work comfortably rain or shine.

Bah

Email posting is being weird. I tried to post that picture from my
phone yesterday, and it didn’t go up. So I righted that wrong today,
but a second attempt at posting an entry from my phone failed just the
same. So I’m a little annoyed, but I am still making daily posts,
whether they show up here or not. Stupid technology.

Whatever the case, I’m in no position to deal with it today. I didn’t
sleep much, and I have a massive headache, so I’m in a bit of a weird
place. No matter, I’m going to do a bunch of errands tomorrow and get
these stupid things off my mind. Then I can work on the bus.

Fire now, blog later.

Distracted

I’ve been pretty distracted ever since I got home. I’ve been playing around a lot on the internet, but most importantly I don’t really have a concept of time yet. I’m counting this as a post for Monday, because I’m not asleep yet. Yes, that means I’m using both definitions of days for this 30 day thing. I don’t know what day it is, odds are I’ll just keep doing it until I feel its been long enough to check.

I have no routine here, which is great. I’d like to live my whole life like that, but it is incredibly counter-productive. Getting things done at any scale larger than toast is difficult. So I need to fall into a routine that includes room for stupid adventures. That has never happened in as long as I’ve been trying for it to happen. Meh, its summer.

Moving out

Last day at UConn – I’m moving out today. By today I mean Saturday, not the way I usually use ‘today’ (being from when I’ve woken up to when I’ve gone to sleep). My roommate is already moving stuff out (yes, now) to his car so he won’t have to deal with it tomorrow. I’ll deal with my crap tomorrow after my exam.

There probably won’t be any pics from the tower because we didn’t end up going. I wanted to on Thursday night, but no one else was willing to go with me. Either exams or other things in the way. And tonight (last night?) it rained. Friday night. Friday night it rained.

A girl from the floor below ours told us about waxing the hallway floor with a can of Pledge. So we did that, sliding down the hall on socks, paper and cloth towels. Its nice when the hall can come together for activities like sliding into walls and landing on your ass.

View From The TopA couple weeks ago we went exploring in our building, and we found out how to get into the attic. And from the attic, we found out how to get onto the roof. So I took this picture and a few others. Tonight, we’re planning on climbing the water towers (those ->). It would be easier if we had a bolt cutter or a set of lock picks, but a little acrobatics will do the trick just as well. They’re pretty tall, so I should be able to get some good pics from there.

Live Music Archive Gems

There is a reason that the Live Music Archive is in my blogroll: its amazing. It, along with Last.fm, put nearly all the music I could ever want online at no charge.

In case you don’t know, the LMA is a repository for live recording from trade-friendly artists. Basically, folks record and upload shows of bands that are cool with it. Its all legal, and its all good. There are a lot of bands I already knew about on the LMA, but its also a great place to find bands you’ve never heard of. Here are a bunch of both:
